Korcula Island, Croatia

Sunday, 30 March 2008
Another sunny, beautiful day relaxing in Croatia! This is a very small town with not much going on, especially on Sunday.
We found a place very easily last night, and slept well after a great meal at a small cafe nearby. We have walked the town inside the old walls and out and are waiting for a bus ride, 3 hours, to Dubrovnik. At some point the bus will board a ferry since this is an island and Dubrovnik is on the mainland.
We both got a bit too much sun yesterday as you can see from the pictures.
Keith's favorite activity here on the islands is to ˝free the cactus˝ by pulling apart the leaves, his hands and arms are bloody scars, but he is having fun.
Croatia is someplace very special, the Adriatic couldn't be more blue or the water clearer. The mountains rise in rocky cliffs from the shore, it is awesome!
It would be nice to come again when the water temperature is conducive to swimming and sailing without a wetsuit. Very relaxing spot!

I can't believe your photos! They are beautiful. They could be a travel brochure. You look so relaxed and happy. How amazing those people traveling 3-4 months . . and some even alone! I don't know if I could travel that long. I would want my own pillow! Glad you've found places to stay and sounds like meeting great people. We are fine here. Been quiet and most things Emily and I have been able to handle. Had a couple of calls/questions about the teacher specialist position and I referred them to Teri. Miss Claudia came thru and said hi, but I haven't seen Jane. I've been very sick with stomach problems since Friday night, so I hope I'm doing okay for tomorrow. I don't want to stay home! Snowing lightly here today, but isn't sticking. 60 degrees one day and snow the next. It's Utah! Your weather looks clear and beautiful, but a little brisk. Hope you continue to have a fine time. Tell Keith to hug you for me. Enjoy! love Lucy
